6.12.010 Charge established.

The city shall collect charges for recycling services within the city of Granite Falls for residential and multifamily residential customers only. All revenue collected for recycling service shall be paid to the solid waste fund. [Ord. 583 § 2, 1997; Ord. 487 § 1, 1992.]

6.12.020 Rates and charges.

The following rates and charges are established:

6.12.030 Billing of charges.

Monthly recycling charges will be billed on the same customer statement used for water, sewer and storm drainage charges and the same billing and collection policy will be used as is used for the water, sewer and storm drainage funds. [Ord. 583 § 4, 1997; Ord. 487 § 3, 1992.]

6.12.040 Collection of charges.

Monies from the monthly recycling charge will be accumulated and used to pay for recycling disposal costs incurred by the city. [Ord. 583 § 5, 1997; Ord. 487 § 4, 1992.]

6.12.050 Dumping garbage at recycling center.

(A) The city of Granite Falls provides recycling drop-boxes for the residents to deposit materials which can be recycled.

(B) The depositing or dumping of items of garbage/litter at the recycling center is prohibited and shall constitute a violation of this section.

(C) Violation – Penalty. Any person found guilty of violating any of the provisions of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $200.00 or by imprisonment not to exceed 90 days or by both such fine and imprisonment.
