PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE FUND

3.18.010 Established – Use.

There is created a public safety and criminal justice fund (fund No. 102) which shall be used to fund those costs associated with hiring, training, supporting and equipping additional law enforcement officers, including authorization of expenditures for a county-wide law enforcement investigation or task force to address major crimes, narcotics investigation, and provide for security and custody personnel, and for hiring personnel in the clerk, prosecution, probation, animal control and enforcement, and code enforcement functions, and to fund those costs associated with hiring, training, supporting and equipping the additional personnel. 3.18.020 Source of revenues.

All additional sales tax revenue from Kittitas County’s collection of the voter-approved three tenths of one percent increase in sales and use tax pursuant to RCW 82.14.450 distributed to the city of Kittitas shall be deposited into fund No. 102, and all revenues generated from these reserves shall likewise be deposited into this fund No. 102. (Ord. 08-013 § 2).

3.18.030 Existing criminal justice funding not replaced.

Monies from fund No. 102 shall not be used to replace or supplant existing criminal justice funding. (Ord. 08-013 § 3).
