17.06.010 Official zoning map.

(1) The zoning districts of the city of Kittitas are hereby designated by a legend on the official zoning map, together with all explanatory matter thereon. The official zoning map is hereby adopted by reference as “Exhibit A” and declared to be a part of this title.

(2) The official zoning map shall be identified by the signature of the mayor, attested by the city clerk under the title “Kittitas Official Zoning Map,” along with the ordinance number and the date said ordinance was adopted.

(3) If, in accordance with the provisions of this title, changes are made in zoning boundaries or any other matter portrayed on the official zoning map, such changes shall be entered on the official zoning map promptly after the amendment has been approved by the city council with an entry citing the appropriate ordinance number and signed by the mayor and attested by the city clerk.

(4) Regardless of the existence of purported copies of the official zoning map which may from time to time be made or published, the official zoning map, which shall be located in the Kittitas City Hall, shall be the final authority as to the current state of zoning in the city. (Ord. 07-012 § 1).

17.06.020 Use districts designated.

To further the identified purposes of this title, the following zoning district categories and zoning map symbols are established:

(1) R-R Rural Residential;

(2) R-1 Residential Single-Family;

(3) R-2 Residential Multifamily;

(4) C-B Central Business;

(5) G-C Gateway Commercial; and

(6) I-G Industrial. (Ord. 16-001 § 1 (Exh. A); Ord. 07-012 § 1).

17.06.030 Interpretation of zoning boundaries.

Where uncertainty exists as to any of the zoning boundaries as shown on the official zoning map, the following rules shall apply:

(1) Where such boundaries are indicated as substantially following the centerlines of the roads, streets, highways, alleys, railroads, or rivers, the centerlines shall be construed to be such boundaries.

(2) Where such boundaries are indicated as substantially following lot lines, the lot lines shall be construed to be such boundaries.

(3) In subdivided land where a zoning boundary divides an ownership, the location of the boundary shall be determined by the scale measurement.

(4) Boundaries indicated as parallel to or extensions of features indicated in subsections (1) through (3) of this section shall be so construed. (Ord. 07-012 § 1).
