CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

2.30.030 Adoption of statutes.
2.30.010 Created.
There is created a civil service commission for the police department of the city of La Center, Washington, pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 13 Laws of 1937 (Chapter 41.12 RCW), and all full paid employment therein, and all advancements, demotions, suspensions, discharges or control thereof, and of the members thereof, shall be under the control of and governed by civil service rules prescribed in or adopted pursuant to said Chapter 13 as the same may have been heretofore or may be hereafter amended. 2.30.020 Administration.
There is created for the administration of such civil service for the police department, a civil service commission composed of three members who shall be appointed by the mayor of the city of La Center, subject to the approval of a majority of the city council. The term of office of such civil service commission shall be six years, except that the first three members of such commission shall be appointed for different terms, as follows: one to serve for a period of two years, one to serve for a period of four years and one to serve for a period of six years. The respective terms for the first three members shall be determined by lot. In the event any civil service commissioner shall resign, become disqualified or be removed for cause, another commissioner shall be appointed to take his place for the unexpired portion of the term. 2.30.030 Adoption of statutes.
This chapter is adopted pursuant to Chapter 13 of the Session Laws of 1937 (Chapter 41.12 RCW) and all of the provisions of said Chapter 13. Three copies of the same are on file in the office of city clerk/treasurer, and are by reference incorporated herein and made a part of this chapter. [Ord. III-6-1 § 3, 1985.]
