19.17.010 Residential care facilities permitted in residential and commercial districts.
In accordance with the requirements of the laws of the state of Washington, in districts R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, TNR, RF-1, RC, C-C, NC, GC, CBD and O/C, the following shall be permitted uses:
(1) “Adult family homes” as defined in Chapter 19.09 LMC.
(2) “Family day care provider” as defined in Chapter 19.09 LMC. (Ord. 3202 § 12, 2012; Ord. 3122 § 12, 2010; Ord. 3047 § 3, 2008; Ord. 2562 § 1, 1994).
19.17.020 Employees permitted to work in residential care facilities.
Notwithstanding the provisions of LMC 19.22.030, to the extent required by the laws of the state of Washington and/or the Washington Administrative Code, licensees of adult family homes and family day care providers may employ persons who do not reside therein to perform such services as are required by such laws or regulations, and by the terms of such licenses. 19.17.030 Compliance with all city regulations.
All buildings and structures used as adult family homes or family day center providers shall comply with all building, signage, fire, safety and health requirements of this code; conform to lot size, building setbacks and lot size requirements of the district in which they are operated; and be certified by the Washington State Department of Licensing as providing a safe passenger loading area. 19.17.040 Notice to adjoining property owners.
Not less than 10 days prior to making application for a license from the state of Washington, applicants for licenses to operate as family day care providers shall notify the owners of all adjoining property of their intent to locate and maintain such a facility. (Ord. 2562 § 1, 1994).
