A. The 2021 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and as adopted and amended by the State Building Code Council (SBCC) in Chapter 51-56 WAC, including Appendix A, “Recommended Rules for Sizing the Water Supply System”; Appendix B, “Explanatory Notes on Combination Waste and Vent Systems”; Appendix I, “Installation Standard for PEX Tubing Systems for Hot- and Cold-Water Distribution”; and Appendix M, “Peak Water Demand Calculator,” excluding Chapter 1, “Administration,” Chapter 12, “Fuel Gas Piping,” and Chapter 14, “Firestop Protection,” is adopted by reference and shall be applicable within the city.
Provided, that those requirements of the Uniform Plumbing Code relating to venting and combustion air of fuel fired appliances as found in UPC Chapter 5 and those portions of the UPC addressing building sewers are not adopted.
B. State Building Code Council statement regarding conflicts:
1. Conflicts. Where a conflict exists between the provisions of Appendix I and the manufacturer’s installation instructions, the conditions of the listing and the manufacturer’s installation instructions shall apply.
C. All codes, ordinances, standards, rules, and regulations adopted by this section are adopted by reference thereto and by this reference fully incorporated herein. Not less than one copy of each code, ordinance, rule or regulation, in the form in which it was adopted, shall be filed in the city clerk’s office and be available for use and examination by the public.
