2.32.010 Enrollment under state relief and compensation provisions.
Every volunteer and part-time fireman of the Ocean Shores fire department is enrolled under the relief and compensation provisions of Chapter 41.24 RCW for the purpose of providing protection for all such firemen and their families from death and disability arising from the performance of their duties as firemen. 2.32.020 Enrollment under state pension provisions.
Any volunteer or part-paid fireman, at his option, may enroll under the pension provisions of Chapter 41.24 RCW for the purpose of enabling such fireman to avail himself of the retirement provisions of that chapter. (Ord. 282 § 2, 1979)
2.32.030 Collection and payment of enrollment fees.
The city shall make provision for the collection and payment of the enrollment fees as provided in Chapter 41.24 RCW. (Ord. 282 § 3, 1979)
2.32.040 Limitation of membership.
Membership in the Ocean Shores volunteer fire department shall not exceed twenty-five firemen for each one thousand population or fraction thereof of this city. (Ord. 282 § 4, 1979)
2.32.050 Board of trustees—Created—Composition—Powers and duties.
There is created a board of trustees for the administration of the volunteer firemen’s relief and pension program. The board shall be composed as provided in RCW 41.24.060 and shall have the powers and duties provided in Chapter 41.24 RCW. (Ord. 282 § 5, 1979)
2.32.060 Board of trustees—Meetings.
The regular meeting of the board of trustees shall be the first Monday of each month at 7:15 p.m. at the Ocean Shores city hall. (Ord. 282 § 6, 1979)
2.32.070 Chief—Appointment.
The fire chief shall have the authority to appoint such subordinates as may be appropriate and necessary for the proper performance of the duties of his office and for which provision is made in the annual budgets adopted by the city council.
