2.60.010 Definition.

As used in this chapter, “donation” refers to any money or property, real or personal, donated or bequeathed, with or without restriction, to the city of Okanogan. (Ord. 865 § 1, 1998)

2.60.020 Clerk-treasurer authorized to accept.

The city clerk-treasurer is hereby authorized to accept donations and to carry out any conditions thereof, if same is within the powers granted by law to the city. The city clerk-treasurer may decline to accept a donation if such donation is not consistent with the policies, plans, goals or ordinances of the city of Okanogan or if acceptance of same is contrary to law. 2.60.030 Disposition of property – Donations to city fund established.

The city clerk-treasurer shall hold, use or dispose of any property donated in accordance with any terms and conditions of said donation. If the donation is without conditions, the clerk-treasurer shall hold, use or dispose of the property in the manner deemed most appropriate under the laws, policies, goals and plans of the city of Okanogan; provided, that the city clerk-treasurer shall refer to the city council the matter of use or disposition of real property. A fund shall be established to be designated the “donations to city fund” for purpose of receipt and deposit of all monetary donations to the city and appropriate records shall be maintained regarding said fund and deposits therein to assure that any monetary donations shall be utilized consistent with the purpose prescribed for each donation, and if monetary donations are given without conditions said funds may be transferred for the donations to city fund to a general fund to be appropriated pursuant to the budget process. 2.60.040 Acknowledgment of donations.

The city clerk-treasurer shall, for each donation, communicate an acknowledgment of acceptance on behalf of the city of Okanogan and express appropriate appreciation therefor. (Ord. 865 § 4, 1998)

2.60.050 Policies and procedures.

The city clerk-treasurer shall promulgate appropriate policies and procedures, with the recommendations of the various city departments, to encourage and facilitate the making of donations to the city of Okanogan. (Ord. 865 § 5, 1998)
