In the following cases the judge of the Olympia municipal court may punish for contempt:
A. Persons guilty of disorderly, contemptuous and insolent behavior towards such judge while engaged in the trial of a cause, or in rendering judgment, or in any judicial proceedings which tend to interrupt such proceedings or impair the respect due to his authority;
B. Persons guilty of a breach of the peace, noise or disturbance tending to interrupt the official proceedings of such court;
C. Persons guilty of resistance or disobedience to any lawful order, subpoena or process made or issued by the judge.

9.12.020 Penalty for violation
The judge of the Olympia municipal court shall be empowered to punish contempt by a fine not to exceed three hundred dollars and/or imprisonment not to exceed ninety days; provided, however, that in the case of a finding of contempt for resistance or disobedience to any lawful order, subpoena or process, the fine shall not exceed one hundred dollars, nor shall any jail time be imposed unless the court proceeding was defeated or prejudiced by the contemptible conduct.
