2.24.010 Public library established.
There is hereby established a public library for the city of Omak to be known as “The Omak Public Library.” (Ord. 336 § 1, 1956).
2.24.020 Appointment of board trustees—Removal—Term.
The management and control of said library shall be fixed in a board of five trustees; said five trustees shall be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the council. The first appointments shall be for terms of one, two, three, four, and five years respectively, and thereafter a trustee shall be appointed annually to serve for five years. Vacancies shall be filled for unexpired terms as soon as possible by appointment and confirmation by the council. The trustees shall receive no salary or other compensation as trustees. The trustees may be removed by a majority vote of the council. (Ord. 336 § 2, 1956).
2.24.030 Library board duties—Conform to state law.*
The library shall be carried on and the tasks of the trustees performed in accordance with Chapter 27.12 RCW, laws of the state of Washington, and all sections appurtenant thereto and any amendments hereinafter enacted related thereto. (Ord. 336 § 3, 1956).

2.24.035 Meetings.
Regular meetings of the library board of the city of Omak shall be held on the second Monday of each month at the hour of one-thirty p.m. in the Omak City Library, Okanogan, Washington. (Ord. 1875 § 1, 2019: Ord. 1569 § 1, 2006: Ord. 1067 § 1, 1988).
2.24.040 Library fund created.
There is hereby created a “library fund” for the city into which fund shall be paid funds for the operation of the public library established by this chapter and from which expenditures of the library shall be paid as provided by law. The transfer of the amount remaining in the 1956 budget of the city of Omak for library operation in the current expense fund to the library fund created hereby is hereby authorized and directed.
