6.08.010 Prohibited animals.
It shall be unlawful for any person, persons, firm or corporation to keep or maintain within the city limits any livestock. (Ord. 1448 § 2 (part), 2015).
6.08.020 Definitions.
“Livestock” includes, but is not limited to, horses, mules, asses, goats, hogs, pigs, sheep, bulls, steer, heifer or cattle of any description. (Ord. 1448 § 2 (part), 2015).
6.08.030 Exemptions.
(a) Veterinarians and veterinarian clinics are exempt during the treatment of livestock or domestic animals.
(b) This provision shall not apply to individuals in the process of transporting livestock through the city when such entry into the city is of minimal duration and the livestock are properly secured for transport in a cage or other suitable enclosure, or are involved in approved city parades or events. (Ord. 1448 § 2 (part), 2015).
6.08.040 Butchering—Slaughtering.
It shall be unlawful to butcher or slaughter any animal inside the city limits of Othello. (Ord. 1448 § 2 (part), 2015).
6.08.050 Violations—Penalties.
Any person or persons violating any provisions of this chapter shall be deemed to have committed a civil infraction and shall be subject to a C-11 penalty. If any violation is continuing, each day’s violation shall be deemed as a separate violation. (Ord. 1448 § 2 (part), 2015).
