12.04.010 Created.
For the purpose of providing for the proper maintenance and operation of public parks, playgrounds, and other recreational facilities belonging to the city, there is created and established a department of the city to be known as “the municipal park department.” (Ord. 393 § 1, 1966).
12.04.020 Powers and duties.
The park department shall have all powers to perform all the duties provided by the laws of the state relating to park and recreational departments in cities of the second class. The park department, under the direction of the mayor, shall have the management of the park and playground system of the city and the administration of the rules and regulations provided by the city council for the management of municipal parks and recreation areas within the city limits. 12.04.030 Appointment and duties of superintendent and other employees.
The public works director shall be the head of the park department. The director shall have charge of the management of the park and playground system of the city. (Ord. 1737 § 2, 2009; Ord. 393 § 3, 1966).
12.04.040 Prohibition of dumping at city park.
Repealed by Ord. 1477. (Ord. 915 § 1, 1983).
