10.44.010 Boarding or alighting from.
No person shall board or alight from any vehicle while such vehicle is in motion. (Ord. 514 §43, 1967).
10.44.020 Unlawful riding.
No person shall ride on any vehicle upon any portion thereof not designated or intended for the use of passengers. This provision shall not apply to an employee engaged in the necessary discharge of a duty, or to persons riding within truck bodies intended for merchandise. (Ord. 514 §44, 1967).
10.44.040 Use of roller skates, sleds or wagons.
A. It is unlawful for any person to skate or coast upon roller skates, sleds or wagons upon any of the paved streets of the city, or upon any of the sidewalks within the fire limits of the city. Provided, however, that it is not unlawful to cross paved streets in such manner at street intersections at the crossings provided for pedestrians.
B. Any person convicted of a violation of the provisions of this section shall be punished by a fine of not less than $5.00. (Ord. 325 §§1, 2, 1927).
10.44.050 Driving on sidewalks.
The operator of a vehicle shall not drive within any sidewalk area except at a permanent or temporary driveway. (Ord. 514 §41, 1967).
10.44.060 Opening and closing doors.
No person shall open the door of a motor vehicle on the side available to moving traffic unless and until it is reasonably safe to do so, nor shall any person leave a door open on the side of a motor vehicle available to moving traffic for a period of time longer than necessary to load or unload passengers. (Ord. 514 §41.1, 1967).
10.44.070 Clinging to moving vehicles.
Any person riding upon any bicycle, motorcycle, coaster, sled, roller skates, or any toy vehicle shall not attach the same or himself to any moving vehicle upon any roadway. (Ord. 514 §42, 1967).
10.44.090 Engine speed retarding brakes.
The use of vehicle engine speed retarding brakes, also known as exhaust brakes or “Jake” brakes, is prohibited within the city limits of the city of Pomeroy. (Ord. 638, 1984).
