ANIMAL CONTROL APPEAL BOARD

2.68.010 Creation – Eligibility.
There is created an animal control appeal board, consisting of three members, who shall be appointed by the mayor, confirmed by the city council. Two members shall be residents of the city and one member shall be a veterinarian who is licensed by the state. (Ord. 1622 § 1, 1994).
2.68.020 Terms of board members.
The first board members appointed shall determine by lot whose term shall expire in one, two or three years respectively, and their term shall begin after their appointment has been approved by the city council, and upon taking the usual oath of qualification. The terms of office, except the first, shall be three years and begin on the first day of January. Members of the board may be removed at any time by the mayor, with confirmation of the council. (Ord. 1622 § 2, 1994).
2.68.030 Powers and duties.
The animal control appeal board shall serve as the board of appeals for matters relating to declaration of potentially dangerous animals (Levels 2 and 3) as established in Ordinance No. 1607, codified in POMC Title 7, and all subsequent amending ordinances thereto. (Ord. 1622 § 3, 1994).
