10.80.010 Definitions.
(1) “Authorized emergency vehicle” shall be defined pursuant to RCW 46.04.040.
(2) “Motor vehicle” is defined pursuant to RCW 46.04.320.
(3) “Nonmotorized corridor” is defined as a separate facility from city public or private streets to be used by pedestrians, cyclists or other means of nonmotorized self-propelled transportation such as roller blades.
(4) “Police vehicles” shall include all vehicles used by any police department and shall include any vehicles used by peace officers under public authority for special undercover or confidential investigative purposes. (Ord. 2571 § 1, 1998).
10.80.020 Motor vehicles prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate a motor vehicle upon a corridor marked as a nonmotorized corridor. (Ord. 2571 § 1, 1998).
10.80.030 Marking of nonmotorized corridors.
Nonmotorized corridors shall be posted with signs as determined by the city’s public works director. (Ord. 2571 § 1, 1998).
10.80.040 Exceptions for wheelchair conveyances.
This chapter shall not apply to any disabled person utilizing a wheelchair conveyance as defined in RCW 46.04.710 within a nonmotorized corridor. (Ord. 2571 § 1, 1998).
10.80.050 Exceptions for authorized emergency vehicles and police vehicles.
This chapter shall not apply to any authorized emergency vehicles or any police vehicles. (Ord. 2571 § 1, 1998).
10.80.060 Penalty for violation.
A violation of this chapter shall constitute a Class 1 civil infraction as defined in Chapter 7.80 RCW. (Ord. 2575 § 1, 1998; Ord. 2571 § 1, 1998).
