3.50.010 Purpose.

The purpose of this chapter is to establish procedures for acceptance of money or property donated, devised, or bequeathed to the city of Roslyn. [Ord. 1142 § 1, 2018.]

3.50.020 Unrestricted donations.

The treasurer may accept unrestricted donations in amounts or values up to and including $5,000 and credit such amounts to the general fund or fixed asset inventory as appropriate without specific approval of the city council. Unrestricted donations valued in excess of $5,000 shall be accepted only by ordinance of the city council which shall specify the municipal purpose or purposes for which such donations may be used. 3.50.030 Restricted donations.

The treasurer may accept restricted donations in amounts or values up to and including $5,000 and credit these monetary amounts to the appropriate funds or restricted fixed asset inventory without further specific approval of the city council. Restricted donations valued in excess of $5,000 shall be accepted only by ordinance of the city council. [Ord. 1142 § 1, 2018.]

3.50.040 Restricted donations – Establishing funds.

The treasurer is authorized to establish such funds and accounting procedures as may be necessary to carry out the terms and conditions of any donation, devise or bequest, in accordance with the laws of the state of Washington and the requirements of the Office of the State Auditor. 3.50.050 Nonmonetary donations.

The mayor is authorized to determine the appropriateness, usefulness, and value to the city of all nonmonetary donations and to recommend to the city council the retention, improvement, return to donor, transfer, trade, sale, donation to other agency, or other disposition of such nonmonetary donation.
