DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FUND

3.32.020 Appropriation of funds.
3.32.010 Created.
An account shall be created to be known as the “domestic violence fund” into which shall be deposited all monies received pursuant to order of courts of San Juan County as an assessment pursuant to the RCW 10.99.080 for crimes involving domestic violence as designated by the Revised Code of Washington or the San Juan County Code. (Ord. 5-2005 § 1)
3.32.020 Appropriation of funds.
The monies in the domestic violence fund shall be appropriated to establish and maintain domestic violence advocacy programs in San Juan County or to establish and maintain domestic violence prevention and prosecution programs in San Juan County. (Ord. 5-2005 § 2)
3.32.030 Use of funds.
On the annual budget cycle for San Juan County, the prosecuting attorney shall submit a budget of proposed appropriations for all funds paid into the domestic violence fund in the previous year. Pursuant to RCW 10.99.080 such funds may only be used to fund domestic violence advocacy, domestic violence prevention and prosecution programs. (Ord. 5-2005 § 3)
3.32.040 Unexpended funds.
Any unexpended funds remaining in the domestic violence fund at the end of any budget year shall not be transferred to the general fund or otherwise lapse, but such funds shall be carried forward from year to year until expended for purpose set forth in this chapter. (Ord. 5-2005 § 4)
