PARKS AND RECREATION PROGRAM

2.52.010 Public recreation defined.

For the purposes of this chapter the term “public recreation” shall mean: recreational activities for children, adults, and senior citizens, including but not limited to athletic fields, camps, recreation centers, swimming pools, public buildings, parks, senior centers, youth centers, aquatic athletics, leagues, tournaments, pageants, arts, crafts, social and cultural activities, and all other programs and activities orientated whether specified in this chapter or not. 2.52.020 Governing body designated—Advisory board.

The board of county commissioners shall be the governing body managing the business and affairs of the parks and recreation program and county grounds and building facilities used for parks and recreation activities within Skamania County. The board may appoint an advisory board for advice and assistance in the operation of such park and recreation program, provided that this advisory board is not deemed a parks and recreation board under RCW 36.68.030. Provided further, that the board of county commissioners shall have the authority to hire personnel for providing parks and recreation programs and maintaining county grounds and building facilities used for park and recreation activities as deemed necessary. 2.52.040 Violation of rules and regulations deemed misdemeanor.

Any person violating any rules or regulations adopted by the board of county commissioners relating to parks, playgrounds or other recreational facilities shall be guilty of a misdemeanor. (Ord. 1978-04 § 5)
