1.16.010 Acceptance of monetary donations.
The city clerk is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the city all monetary donations made to the city of Soap Lake less than $1,000. However, the city clerk may request approval of the city council prior to the acceptance of any donation. A designee of the city clerk is authorized to accept on behalf of the city all monetary donations made to the city of Soap Lake less than $1,000.
All monetary donations $1,000 or greater shall be approved by the city council.
In the event a donor has indicated a desire as to the use by the city of a donation, such donation shall, to the extent reasonably feasible, be assigned to a project consistent with the donor’s desired use. (Ord. 1108 § 1, 2010).
1.16.020 Acceptance of nonmonetary donations.
The city clerk is hereby authorized to accept on behalf of the city all nonmonetary donations made to the city of Soap Lake with a fair market value less than $1,000. However, the city clerk may request approval of the city council prior to the acceptance of any donation. A designee of the city clerk is authorized to accept on behalf of the city all nonmonetary donations made to the city of Soap Lake with a fair market value less than $1,000.
All nonmonetary donations with a fair market value of $1,000 or greater must be approved by the city council. Prior to the acceptance of a nonmonetary donation valued at $1,000 or greater, the city clerk shall make a recommendation to the city council as to whether a particular nonmonetary donation should be accepted by the city.
