JAIL*

1.16.020 Use as a place of detention.

1.16.010 Established.
There is established in the city a city jail, the location of which shall be established by motion of the city council. (Ord. B-39 § 1, 1974; Ord. 113 § 1, 1910).
1.16.020 Use as a place of detention.
All persons arrested in the city by the police officers, charged with a crime, or under sentence of the police judge shall be confined therein, and such other persons as shall be placed therein by any other duly authorized officer of any county of the state or the United States of America, and the same shall be used as a jail or place of detention by any duly authorized officer, whether under the laws of the state or any state of the United States, or of the United States. (Ord. 113 § 2, 1910).
1.16.030 Supervision.
The jail so created by this chapter shall be under the charge and supervision of the chief of police of the city of Sunnyside and his duly authorized deputies. (Ord. 2017-03 § 1, 2017; Ord. 113 § 3, 1910).
1.16.040 Booking fee.
Repealed by Ord. 2017-03. (Ord. 2017-01 § 1, 2017; Ord. 2000-19 §§ 1, 2, 2000; Ord. 99-15 § 1, 1999).
