2.84.010 Participation authorized.

This municipality shall become a participant in the Social Security System so that the benefits of old age and survivors’ insurance may be extended to its employees and officers.

2.84.020 Mayor and council to submit plans.

The mayor and the finance director are authorized to execute and deliver to the Washington Department of Employment Security for its approval the plan or plans required under the provisions of RCW 41.48.050 and of the Social Security Act to extend coverage to the employees and officers of this municipality and to do all other things necessary to that end.

2.84.030 Authorization to make payments and establish payroll deductions.

The proper officials may be and they are hereby authorized to make all required payments into the contribution fund established by the enabling act and to establish such system of payroll deductions from the salaries of employees and officers as may be necessary to their coverage under such old age and survivors’ insurance system.

2.84.040 Implementation of system authorized.

The proper officials of the municipality do all things necessary to the continued implementation of such system.

2.84.050 Proportion contributed by city.

Such sums as are necessary to pay the city’s contribution to the Social Security System shall be appropriated from such of the funds of the city as the employee covered derives as his salary, or in the event the salary is paid from two or more funds, then the same proportions shall prevail as govern the salary payments.

2.84.060 Effective date of participation.

This municipality shall become a participant in the Social Security System effective as of April 1, 1955.
