12.70.030 Street cut repair fees.

A. The following schedule of fees applies to street cut restoration work performed by the city of Walla Walla:

1. First square foot

$138.73

2. Each square foot thereafter, up to 2" thick

$4.17/sq. ft.

3. Prepare patch (WWMC 12.32.050(B))

$1.48/sq. ft.

4. Full depth asphalt concrete, concrete, brick, or other structural section – 3 sack concrete from bottom of section to 2" from surface

$1.22/sq. ft.
per inch depth

5. Extra work (e.g., backfill does not meet compaction test requiring compaction – WWMC 12.32.080)

At cost + 15%

6. Winter work requiring maintenance or temporary patching with “cold mix”

At cost but not less than $160.00 per cut

7. Administrative fees

$45.85

B. Nothing herein shall relieve a party from its obligation to perform restoration work as required by this code, other ordinances of the city of Walla Walla, or applicable franchise or other agreements.

C. All restoration work to be done by private contractor shall be completed or provided temporary cold mix patch within twenty-four hours after backfill is completed, or the city shall be authorized to complete the work at its sole discretion without further notice to the responsible party.

12.70.040 Inspection fees for improvements to or replacement of facilities in the public right-of-way.

Any person, firm or corporation doing construction work in the public right-of-way or occupying the public right-of-way while doing construction work on adjacent private property shall obtain the necessary permits and shall pay the following standard fees for engineering services and inspection in connection with the permitted work:

12.70.050 Double fees for failure to obtain permits prior to performance of work.

Whenever any work for which a permit is required by this title has been commenced without first obtaining said permit, work may be stopped by the city, at the contractor’s sole expense, pending issuance of a permit, and any and all applicable fees and charges shall be double. Utility companies are required to obtain permits required by this title prior to commencing work on private property or within city rights-of-way. Ordinary fees are assessed against a utility as provided in the applicable franchise agreement; provided, however, fees shall be assessed in amount double the amounts stated in this chapter if a utility commences work without first obtaining a permit; and, provided further, that work may be stopped by the city, at the utility’s sole expense, pending issuance of a permit.
