10.28.010 Twenty-five mile per hour speed limit, exceptions.
The speed limit within the city limits of Wapato shall be twenty-five miles per hour, unless other wise posted as hereafter set forth. (Ord. 1044 §1(part), 1997)
10.28.020 Streets with twenty mile per hour limit.
The speed limit shall be twenty miles per hour on the following streets:
A. South Wasco, from Ninth Street to Tenth Street;
B. South Satus, from Ninth Street to Tenth Street;
C. South Park Drive, from Ninth Street to South Wasco;
D. Tenth Street, from South Wasco to South Satus;
E. Dove Lane;
F. Fourth Street, from South Naches to South Yakima;
G. South Yakima, from Third Street to Fourth Street;
H. South Wasco, from Third Street to Sixth Street;
I. South Camas from Highway 97 to East Eighth Street;
J. Ninth Street from South Yakima Avenue to South Camas Avenue; and

10.28.030 Streets with twenty mile per hour limit from seven a.m. until three-thirty p.m.

10.28.040 Signs, school and playground zones.
Speed limit signs shall be posted which shall clearly mark the foregoing restricted speed zones. School or playground crosswalks shall be fully posted with standard school speed limit signs or standard playground speed limit signs. The speed zone at school or playground crosswalks shall extend three hundred feet in either direction from the marked crosswalk. (Ord. 1044 §1(part), 1997)
10.28.050 Penalties.
Except for a speeding infraction committed within a playground or school crosswalk zone, a person who shall be found to have committed a traffic infraction related to speed restrictions shall be assessed a monetary penalty as set forth under RCW 46.63.110, which has been adopted in this code by reference. 10.28.060 Double penalties for infractions in school and playground zones.
A person who shall be found to have committed any infraction related to speed restrictions within a school or playground speed zone shall be assessed a monetary penalty equal to twice the penalty assessed pursuant to RCW 46.63.110, which has been adopted in this code by reference. This penalty may not be waived, reduced, or suspended. (Ord. 1238 §1Z, 2011: Ord. 1044 §1(part), 1997)
