12.10.040 Motor vehicle restrictions.

12.10.010 Parks – Definition.
A “park,” as used in this chapter, shall mean any real property located within the Town limits, or outside the Town limits if owned by the Town, which is used by the public for recreation enjoyment or historical preservation and is posted as a park or a trail. [Ord. 2006.12 § 1, 2006].
12.10.020 Hours of operation.
The hours of operation of a Town park shall be from dawn until dusk. [Ord. 2018.06 § 1, 2018; Ord. 2006.12 § 2, 2006].
12.10.030 Fire restrictions.
No fire shall be allowed in parks other than in approved fireplaces. [Ord. 2006.12 § 3, 2006].
12.10.040 Motor vehicle restrictions.
No motor vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, motorbikes, camp trailers, campers, trailers, all terrain vehicles or any other vehicle that is propelled by an engine of any kind shall be allowed. [Amended during 2014 codification; Ord. 2006.12 § 4, 2006].
12.10.050 Liquor.
The consumption of intoxicants and/or liquor of any kind is prohibited in all parks. [Ord. 2006.12 § 5, 2006].
12.10.060 Animals.
No animals shall be allowed in any park unless under restraint or on a leash no longer than eight (8) feet in length. All horses shall be confined to those areas designated as roadway, parking areas or trails that specifically allow horses. Animal handlers are responsible for removing their animal waste from the parks. [Ord. 2006.12 § 6, 2006].
12.10.070 Camping.
No overnight camping shall be allowed in any park, whether in camper, camp trailer, tent or otherwise. [Ord. 2006.12 § 7, 2006].
12.10.080 Ball playing.
Repealed by Ord. 2018.07. [Ord. 2006.12 § 8, 2006].
12.10.090 Golf prohibited.
Golf is prohibited in parks. [Ord. 2006.12 § 9, 2006].
12.10.095 Disturbing surface area.
The surface area shall not be disturbed by digging, piling, or scraping in a park, except by Town maintenance. [Ord. 2019.06 § 1, 2019].
12.10.100 Penalties.
A person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction with a fine not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00). [Ord. 2006.12 § 10, 2006].
12.10.110 Park Plan adopted.
A. The Wilkeson Park Plan, attached to the ordinance codified in this section and incorporated by reference as Exhibit “1,” is hereby adopted in its entirety.
B. The Town Clerk/Treasurer shall have a copy of the Park Plan available for public inspection during regular business hours of Town Hall. [Amended during 2014 codification; Ord. 2000.02 §§ 1, 2, 2000].
