2.36.010 Public Employee Retirement System adopted—Membership.

The city of Yakima, Washington, has and elects to participate in the Public Employees Retirement System as provided for by Chapter 41.40 of the Revised Code of Washington. All employees and officers of the city of Yakima shall be included in said system, except the members of the fire department and of the police department who are members of the police and fire pension system; provided, that no elective official shall be included unless such official so elects and files a written notice of such election with the board of trustees of the pension system and the city clerk.
