8.70.010 Private garbage and refuse disposal.
1. Purpose. The purpose of this chapter is to regulate and promote the orderly, sightly and sanitary disposal of residential garbage, waste and refuse. This chapter is also intended to assist the Township and its refuse hauler in properly removing such garbage and refuse consistent with this intent.
2. No person shall leave a garbage can, receptacle, container or bag at the roadside more than 12 hours prior to the scheduled garbage and refuse pickup.
3. No person shall allow a garbage can, receptacle, container or bag to remain at the side of the road where pickup occurs more than 12 hours following the removal of such garbage and waste by the Town garbage hauler.
4. All garbage, waste or refuse shall be placed for pickup in suitable containers provided by the Town’s garbage and refuse collector.
5. All garbage cans or containers shall be kept at least 10 feet off of the paved portion of the roadway, except during garbage collection periods as described above. Such garbage cans or containers shall also be concealed or screened from view from the roadway by fencing, shrubbery or other suitable visual barrier.
6. Penalty. Any person who violates this chapter shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $50.00 for the first offense and $100.00 for each additional offense. Every day a violation occurs shall be deemed a separate offense for purposes of this chapter. (Ord. 2011-9 § 1. 2008 code § 11.12)
