10.460 Parking of Recreational Vehicles and Truck Campers Prohibited.
(1) Definitions.
(a) Recreational Vehicle or “RV.” A vehicular type portable structure without permanent foundation, which can be towed, hauled or driven and primarily designed as temporary living accommodations for recreational, camping and travel use and including, but not limited to, travel trailers, truck campers, camping trailers and self-propelled homes.
(b) Truck Camper. A truck camper is a recreational lodging unit with a floor that is designed to be mounted on a truck to provide facilities for human habitation with an overall length and height of five feet or more when fully extended.
(2) Overnight RV and Truck Camper Parking Prohibited. No person shall park an RV or a truck camper on any street within the City of Manitowoc for a period of time longer than one hour between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Each occurrence violating this subsection shall constitute a separate offense such that a total of five separate violations may occur during one overnight period when one RV or truck camper is parked overnight on City streets.
(3) RV and Truck Camper Parking Prohibited. No person shall park an RV or a truck camper on any parking lot owned by the City of Manitowoc and located within City limits.
(4) Waiver. The Chief of Police and its designees are authorized to grant exceptions to these restrictions on an individual basis where the contemplated use of City streets or parking lots does not appear likely to constitute a violation of the spirit of this section.
