14.770 Stock Car Races – Racing Exhibitions – License Required – Penalty.

(1) Stock Car Races – Racing Exhibitions – Snowmobile Racing – Demolition Derbies – Permit Required. No person shall conduct a motor vehicle race, motor vehicle demolition derby, stock car race, snowmobile race or similar exhibition of motor vehicle racing in the City of Manitowoc unless a permit has first been granted by the City of Manitowoc Common Council. The permit shall state the place where the motor vehicle exhibition shall be held and shall indicate the date or dates and a time period during which the event may be held. No permit shall be issued unless evidence of a minimum of $500,000 of liability insurance is provided by the parties seeking the permit.

(2) Penalty. Any person, firm, association or corporation holding, conducting, or participating in a motor vehicle exhibition in violation of subsection (1) of this section shall, upon conviction, forfeit not more than $500.00 and each day shall be considered a separate offense.
