26.030 Municipal Judge.

(1) Qualifications. The Municipal Judge must be a resident of the City of Manitowoc and an attorney in good standing licensed to practice law in the State of Wisconsin. Should either of these conditions not be met at any time during the Municipal Judge’s term, the office shall be deemed vacant.

(2) Oath and Bond. The Municipal Judge shall, after election or appointment to fill a vacancy, take and file the official oath as prescribed by the Wisconsin Statutes. The Municipal Judge may not act as such until the oath has been properly filed as required by the Wisconsin Statutes.

(3) Salary. The Municipal Judge shall be paid an annual salary in equal bi-weekly installments as provided for by resolution for the initial period of December 1, 1978, to April 30, 1979, and each 12-month period from May 1st to April 30th.

(4) Duties. The Municipal Judge shall be responsible for preparing and filing all reports with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles and all other necessary reports required by the Wisconsin Statutes and rules thereunder.

(5) Municipal Court Clerk. The Municipal Judge shall in writing appoint a Clerk for the Municipal Court, subject to the approval of the Personnel Committee of the Common Council. The salary of the Clerk shall be fixed by the Common Council. The Clerk shall, before entering upon the duties of office, take the oath required by the Wisconsin Statutes.
