2.90.010 Established—Statutory authority.

The Fish and Wildlife Advisory Commission is established under authority of Government Code Section 31000.1 in compliance with SCCC 2.38.060. [Ord. 5223 § 1, 2016; Ord. 2109, 1975; prior code § 3.15.010].

2.90.020 Membership.

The Commission shall consist of 10 members, residents of the County, appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Each Supervisor shall nominate two persons who may reside within the Supervisor’s district to serve on the Commission. [Ord. 5223 § 1, 2016; Ord. 2109, 1975; prior code § 3.15.030].

2.90.030 Term of office.

Each member shall serve for a term of four years, commencing on April 1st of the year in which the member’s nominating Supervisor begins a full term. [Ord. 5223 § 1, 2016; Ord. 2109, 1975; prior code § 3.15.040].

2.90.040 Organization and procedures.

(A)    General Organization. The Commission shall comply in all respects with SCCC 2.38.110 through 2.38.250.

(B)    Staff Support. The Environmental Health Services division of the Health Services Agency shall provide staff support for the Commission. The Environmental Health Director, or their designee, shall serve as the Administrative Secretary to the Commission and shall receive copies of all minutes, reports and recommendations submitted to the Board of Supervisors by the Commission.

(C)    Budget. The Administrative Secretary and the County Administrative Officer shall annually prepare a proposed estimate of anticipated revenue and expenditures, with the advice of the Commission, to be submitted to the Board of Supervisors during the County’s budget hearings. 2.90.050 Powers and duties.

The Commission shall make recommendations, consistent with the policies and regulations of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, to the Board of Supervisors concerning expenditures from the County fish and wildlife propagation fund, such fund created by Fish and Game Code Sections 13003(b) and 13100, for the propagation and conservation of fish and wildlife in the County. The Commission shall advise the Board of Supervisors on any matters pertaining to fish and wildlife in the County, including the natural habitat and environment in general.
