2.07.010 Establishment of department.
There is established within the county the Amador County collections department, hereinafter referred to as the collections department, the head of which is the Amador County collections officer. (Ord. 1145 §1(part), 1987).
2.07.020 Duties--Collections for county agencies.
The primary duties and responsibilities of the collections officer shall be to pursue the collection of delinquent obligations owed to the county, and as deemed necessary refer matters exceeding the limit of small claims court jurisdiction to the county counsel for prosecution of civil actions against persons and entities indebted to the county. The collections officer and his employees and designated representatives are appointed as representatives of the county in small claims court, pursuant to the provisions of Code of Civil Procedure Section 117.41; provided, however, that this appointment shall not be exclusive, and other county officers and/or employees may be appointed as such representatives for other purposes in small claims court. (Ord. 1145 §1(part), 1987).
2.07.030 Duties--As prescribed by board.
The collections officer shall, in addition to the duties imposed by Section 2.07.020, do and perform such other duties as required by the board. (Ord. 1145 §1(part), 1987).
2.07.040 Cooperation with other departments.
It is anticipated that the collections department shall function in close cooperation with all departments which presently have delinquent accounts receivable or may in the future have delinquent accounts receivable, as well as the county counsel in performing its duties as provided in this chapter. (Ord. 1145 §1(part), 1987).
