TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNS

8.20.010 Intersections designated.

(1) Pursuant to the authority granted to it pursuant to state law and, particularly, California Vehicle Code Sections 21100, 21351, 21354, 21355, 21400 and 40000 et seq., the city of Biggs hereby directs that stop signs shall be placed as follows:

(a) A stop sign will be placed stopping westbound traffic, at the following intersections: 6th and Dakota, 6th and Trent, 6th and Bannock, Aleut and Biggs-Gridley Rd., Aleut and 2nd, Aleut and 3rd, Aleut and 4th, Aleut and 5th, Aleut and 6th, Aleut and 7th, Aleut and 9th, Aleut and 10th, Aleut and 11th, B and 1st, B and 2nd, B and 6th, C and 2nd, C and 3rd, C and 4th, C and 5th, C and 6th, C and 7th, C and 9th, C and 10th, C and 11th, D and 3rd, D and 4th, D and 5th, D and 6th, D and 7th, D and 9th, D and 10th, E and 2nd, E and 8th, E and 9th, E and 10th, F and 3rd, F and 4th, F and 5th, F and 6th, F and 7th, F and 9th, F and 10th, G and 6th, G and 7th, Bannock and Biggs-Gridley Rd., Mary L. Court.

(b) A stop sign shall be placed stopping eastbound traffic at the following intersections: Bannock and 2nd, Bannock and 3rd, Bannock and 4th, Bannock and 5th, Bannock and 6th, Aleut and 1st, Aleut and 2nd, Aleut and 3rd, Aleut and 4th, Aleut and 5th, Aleut and 6th, Aleut and 8th, Aleut and 9th, Aleut and 10th, Aleut and 11th, B and 1st, B and 2nd, B and 6th, C and 2nd, C and 3rd, C and 4th, C and 5th, C and 6th, C and 8th, C and 9th, C and 10th, D and 2nd, D and 3rd, D and 4th, D and 5th, D and 6th, D and 8th, D and 9th, D and 10th, E and 2nd, E and 8th, E and 9th, F and 2nd, F and 3rd, F and 4th, F and 5th, F and 6th, F and 8th, F and 9th, F and 10th, G and 5th, G and 6th, G and 7th, G and 8th, H and 4th.

(c) A stop sign shall be placed stopping northbound traffic at the following intersections: 1st and B, 1st and C, 2nd and B, 2nd and C, 2nd and E, 3rd and Bannock, 3rd and B, 3rd and E, 4th and Bannock, 4th and B, 4th and E, 4th and H, 5th and Bannock, 5th and B, 5th and E, 5th and H, 6th and B, 6th and E, 6th and H, 7th and B, 7th and E, 8th and B, 9th and B, 9th and G, 10th and B, 10th and G, 11th and B.

(d) A stop sign shall be placed stopping southbound traffic at the following intersections: 1st and B, 2nd and E, 2nd and B, 2nd and C, 3rd and Bannock, 3rd and Trent, 3rd and B, 3rd and E, 4th and Bannock, 4th and B, 4th and E, 5th and Bannock, 5th and Trent, 5th and B, 5th and E, 6th and B, 6th and E, 7th and B, 7th and E, 8th and B, 9th and Bannock, 9th and B, 10th and Bannock, 10th and B, 11th and Bannock, 11th and B.

(2) Pursuant to the authority granted to it pursuant to state law and, particularly, California Vehicle Code Sections 21100, 21351, 21354, 21355, 21400 and 40000 et seq., “Yield” signs shall be placed for and controlling westbound traffic at the intersections of 7th and E and 7th and F.

(3) Pursuant to the authority granted to it pursuant to state law and, particularly, California Vehicle Code Sections 21100, 21351, 21354, 21355, 21400 and 40000 et seq., “No Truck Parking Within City Limits” signs shall be installed on B and E Street.

(4) Pursuant to the authority granted to it pursuant to state law and, particularly, California Vehicle Code Sections 21100, 21351, 21354, 21355, 21400 and 40000 et seq., “Slow: Children at Play” signs shall be installed on Trent Street.

(5) Pursuant to the authority granted to it pursuant to state law and, particularly, California Vehicle Code Sections 21100, 21351, 21354, 21355, 21400 and 40000 et seq., “Trucks with Doubles Yield for Trains” shall be placed for westbound traffic at the intersections of 7th and E Streets and 7th and F Streets. 8.20.020 Establishment and removal.

(1) Pursuant to the authority granted to it, the city of Biggs does hereby ordain that it may establish stops signs and all other manner of traffic control signs and all manner of parking signs, including but not limited to those described in BMC 8.20.010, by way of resolution, rather than ordinance.

(2) Pursuant to the authority granted to it, the city of Biggs does hereby ordain that it may delete and remove stops signs and all other manner of traffic control signs and all manner of parking signs, including but not limited to those described in BMC 8.20.010 as well as those previously established by ordinance, including but not limited to Ordinance No. 327, by way of resolution, rather than ordinance.

(3) Violation of any of the traffic control devices and/or parking regulations established by ordinance or by resolution of the city of Biggs will constitute an infraction and shall be punished as provided in the California Vehicle Code. [Ord. 331 §§ 7, 8, 9, 2001]

8.20.030 Violations.

Violation of this chapter, and/or any part or section herein, will constitute an infraction and shall be punished as provided in the California Vehicle Code. [Ord. 327 § 7, 2001; Ord. 208 § 2, 1978]
