SPEED LIMITS

10.40.010 California Vehicle Code.
Pursuant to the provisions of Sections 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code, the city of Capitola has the authority to determine on the basis of an engineering and traffic survey for streets within its jurisdiction to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic in a reasonable and safe manner. 10.40.020 Sign posting.
The prima facie speed limits herein declared shall be effective when appropriate signs have been posted and the superintendent of streets is authorized and directed to erect, place and maintain such appropriate street and pavement signs and markings as may be required to give notice to the prima facie speed limit as detailed in Section 10.40.030.
