FIRE CODE

15.24.010 Adopted.
Except as hereinafter provided, that certain fire code known and designated as the Los Angeles County Fire Code is the fire code of the city, adopted by reference. The intent of the code is to prescribe regulations consistent with nationally recognized good practice for the safeguarding, to a reasonable degree, of life and property in Cerritos from the hazards of fire and explosion arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the use or occupancy of buildings or premises in Cerritos.
As used in this chapter, the Los Angeles County Fire Code refers to the current fire code adopted by the county of Los Angeles and any amendments to such code subsequently adopted by the county of Los Angeles. In the event of any conflict between provisions of the Los Angeles County Fire Code, Title 32 of the Los Angeles County Code, or the Cerritos Municipal Code, the provision contained in the Cerritos Municipal Code shall control.
One copy of the Los Angeles County Fire Code, as amended, has been deposited in the office of the city clerk of the city of Cerritos, and shall be at all times maintained by the clerk for use and examination by the public. 15.24.030 Previous permits.
Any permit heretofore issued by the county or the city, pursuant to the fire prevention code of the county, for work within the limits of the city shall remain in full force and effect, according to its terms. (Ord. 560 § 3, 1978: Ord. 188 § 3, 1967)
