3.12.010 CLAIMS AND DEMANDS:

All claims and demands against the city shall be submitted to the city clerk who shall review them to determine if, under the California Government Code, they may be paid in the form in which they are submitted. If approved by the city clerk, any claim or demand which does not conform to the adopted budget shall be submitted to the city council for approval or rejection prior to the drawing of a warrant, pursuant to California Government Code section 37201 et seq. If a demand is certified by the city clerk as conforming to the adopted budget, a warrant may be drawn in payment. A list of such warrants shall then be presented to the city council for ratification at the first meeting after the delivery of the warrants. (1972 Code § 3.24.010)

3.12.020 SALARIES AND WAGES:

Salaries and wages shall be paid to officers and employees of the city on the fifteenth and last day of each month, or on the last regular working day prior to those dates. Payroll warrants shall be treated as budgeted demand warrants pursuant to section 3.12.010 of this chapter. (1972 Code § 3.24.020)
