PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS

10.50.010 Alleys – Fifteen miles per hour.

In accordance with CVC Section 22352(a)(1)(C), the prima facie speed limit for the streets, or portions thereof, designated in this section is hereby designated to be 15 miles per hour.

10.50.020 Residential streets – Twenty-five miles per hour.

In accordance with Section 22352(a)(2)(A) of the CVC, the prima facie speed limit for the streets, or portions thereof, listed on Exhibit A1 is hereby designated to be 25 miles per hour. (Ord. 1243 § 2, 2024; Ord. 1063 § 1, 2007. Code 1964 § 12.60.020.)

10.50.030 School zones.

The public works director shall install standard “SCHOOL” warning signs within certain designated school zones. Once posted, in accordance with CVC Section 22352(a)(2)(B), the prima facie speed limit in these posted areas is hereby designated to be 25 miles per hour. (Ord. 1243 § 2, 2024; Ord. 1063 § 1, 2007. 10.50.040 Children’s playgrounds – Twenty-five miles per hour.

In accordance with CVC Section 22357.1, the prima facie speed limit for the street, or portions thereof, designated in this section is hereby designated to be 25 miles per hour during the hours of operation of the skate park, currently 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

10.50.060 Bridges and structures.

In accordance with Section 22404 of the CVC, the prima facie speed limit for the streets, or portions thereof, designated in this section is hereby designated to be 15 miles per hour.
