The city council ordains that notwithstanding the absence of liability insurance, the city will defend and indemnify any city officer, employee or volunteer who becomes the subject of litigation and take all steps required to protect said officer, employee or volunteer as required by Government Code Section 825 et seq. (Ord. 649, 1985)
