18.54.010 Purposes.

The purpose of the open space use table is to designate the uses permitted within each of the following zones:

(a)    OS-1 primary open space district;

(b)    OS-2 secondary open space district. (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981).

18.54.020 Permitted uses in open space districts.

With regard to the table set out in Section 18.54.030, an (X) indicates that the uses described, or similar in nature to those described, are permitted in the designated zone. An (O) indicates that the uses described or similar in nature to those described, are permitted in the zone provided a use permit has been granted by the planning commission. A (—) indicates that the described uses are incompatible with the particular zone. An otherwise incompatible use may be permitted in a zone; provided, that a use permit has been granted by the planning commission with sufficient conditions and limitations to make the conditioned use similar in nature to the other uses allowed in a zone. If a use is not listed in the table, the planning commission, upon written request, shall determine whether or not such use is similar in character to a described use for the purposes of applying zone district regulations and special conditions. In instances where the use includes activities similar in character to more than one of the specific uses set forth in the open space use table (Section 18.54.030), a use permit shall be required if any of such activities or uses would require a use permit. If a use is not similar to uses in the open space use table, it will be allowed only with a use permit. (Ord. 1343 § 5, 2011: Ord. 1149 § 75, 1992: Ord. 1112 § 65, 1991; Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981).

18.54.025 Limitation on placement of concrete batch plants.

Notwithstanding any other provisions in this chapter to the contrary, no concrete batch plants shall be permitted to locate or operate in an OS-2 zone within three hundred feet of any school or any district zoned for residential purposes. (Ord. 954 § 2, 1981).
