SIGNS—SIGNALS

11.20.010 Prohibited acts.
No person shall place or maintain or display any device, other than official warning or direction signs or signals erected under competent authority upon, or in view of a street which purports to be, or is imitation of, or resembles, an official warning or direction sign or signal, or which attempts to direct the movement of traffic or the actions of operators upon or in view of a street, and any such prohibited device is a public nuisance, and the chief of police may remove it or cause it to be removed without notice.
No person shall wilfully deface, injure, move or interfere with any official warning or direction sign or signal. (Prior code § 16.35).
11.20.020 Obedience required.
When authorized signs or other markings are in place giving notice thereof, no pedestrian or operator of any vehicle shall violate the directives of such markings. (Prior code § 16.38).
