11.32.010 Driving through funeral processions prohibited.
No driver of a vehicle shall drive between vehicles comprising a funeral procession while they are in motion and when the vehicles in such processions are conspicuously so designated. (Prior code § 16.50).
11.32.020 Clinging to moving vehicles prohibited.
Any person riding upon any bicycle, motorcycle, coaster, roller skates or any toy vehicle shall not attach the same or himself to any moving vehicle upon any roadway. (Prior code § 16.51).
11.32.030 Use of coasters and roller skates prohibited in central traffic district.
No person upon roller skates or riding in or by means of any coaster, or similar device, shall go upon any street or sidewalk within the central traffic district. (Prior code § 16.52).
11.32.040 Driving on sidewalks or parkway prohibited.
The driver of a motor vehicle shall not drive within any sidewalk area or any parkway except at a permanent or temporary driveway. (Prior code § 16.53).
11.32.045 Vehicles prohibited from bicycle lanes and paths.
No person shall operate a motor vehicle, motor driven cycle, motorcycle or motor scooter within an established and officially designated bicycle lane or path except (i) when necessary to park where parking is allowed, (ii) for purposes of ingress or egress to and from driveways, (iii) for purposes of traversing an intersection, or (iv) to effect a right turn in which case the driver shall first merge into the bicycle lane before turning. 11.32.050 Riding or driving on new pavement or freshly painted markings prohibited.
No person shall ride or drive any animal or any vehicle across or over any newly made pavement or freshly painted marking in any street when a barrier or sign is in place warning persons not to drive over or across such pavement or marking, or when a sign is in place, stating that the street or any portion thereof is closed. 11.32.060 Driving within parks and creek bed prohibited.
No person shall drive a motor vehicle, motor driven cycle, motorcycle or motor scooter into or within a public park or playground, or the creek bed of San Francisquito Creek except upon roadway established by public authority, or except by persons driving vehicles expressly permitted to do so by the superintendent of streets of the city, or by persons driving vehicles on official government business. 11.32.070 Driving animal-drawn vehicles prohibited.
No person shall drive any animal-drawn vehicle into or within the central traffic district between the hours of four-thirty p.m. and six p.m. (Prior code § 16.56).
11.32.080 Driving vehicles through railroad grade crossing gates prohibited.
No person shall drive any vehicle through, around, or under any crossing gate or barrier at a railroad grade crossing while such gate or barrier is closed or is being opened or closed. (Prior code § 16.57).
11.32.090 Spilling contents or load prohibited—Penalty.
(a) It is unlawful for any person to operate or cause to be operated on any public street, highway, avenue, lane, alley or other public place in the city, any automobile, truck or other vehicle, by reason of which operation mud, dirt, earth or debris is carried, conveyed, tracked, scattered or distributed on, in or over such public street, highway, lane, alley or other public place in the city.
(b) It is unlawful for any person to operate or cause to be operated on any public street, any vehicle loaded with rubbish or garbage or any other noisome, nauseous or offensive matter that is not covered or fully secured sufficient to prevent the load or any part of the load from spilling, leaking, blowing or dropping on, in or over such public street in the city.
(c) In addition to any other penalty in this title provided, any person who violates the provision of the foregoing paragraphs and operates or causes to be operated any vehicle in the city by reason of which operation mud, dirt, earth or debris is carried, conveyed, tracked, scattered or distributed on, in or over any public street, highway or other public place in the city, shall fully clean and remove such debris therefrom to the satisfaction of the city manager of the city.
(d) In the event such person shall fail to comply with the preceding paragraphs pertaining to cleaning and removing the debris, the city manager shall cause such debris to be removed and the cost therefor shall be paid by such person, and in the event such cost is not paid, upon demand, by such person, the city shall have the right to institute civil proceedings for recovery of such cost together with reasonable attorney’s fees.
