ONE-WAY ALLEYS

Every operator of a vehicle traveling on, over or through the alleys or either of them in Block 27 and Block 26 of the City of Mt. Shasta shall enter the alleys from East Lake Street and East Castle Street and travel in a northwesterly direction only. (Ord. 152 § 1, 1952)
10.40.011 West Castle Street and West Lake Street – Block 30.
Every operator of a vehicle traveling on, over or through the alleyway now extant between West Castle Street and West Lake Street in Block 30 of the City of Mt. Shasta shall enter said alley from West Castle Street and travel in a southerly direction only to the intersection of said alley with West Lake Street. (Ord. 302, 1972)
10.40.020 East Alma and East Castle Streets – Blocks 26 and 27.
It shall be unlawful for the operator of any vehicle to enter the alleys in Block 26 and Block 27 of the City of Mt. Shasta from East Alma Street and East Castle Street and travel in a southeasterly direction on, over or through said alleys or either of them. (Ord. 152 § 2, 1952)
10.40.030 Vehicle defined.
The word “vehicle” as used in this chapter is a device, upon or by which any person or property is or may be propelled, moved or drawn upon a highway, street or alley, excepting a device moved by human power or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks. (Ord. 152 § 3, 1952)
10.40.040 Signs installed.
The Chief of Police is directed to install suitable signs at or near the entrance to each of the alleys in Block 27 and Block 26 of the City from East Lake Street and East Castle Street designating and directing one-way travel only and to install suitable signs at or near the entrance of the alleys from East Alma Street and East Castle Street in Block 26 and Block 27 of the City closing the alleys to vehicle travel in a southeasterly direction. 10.40.050 Penalty for violation.
