24.60.010 Required – Placement.

At the time of making the survey for the final map, the engineer or surveyor shall set sufficient durable monuments to conform with the standards described in Section 8771 of the Business and Professions Code so another engineer or surveyor may readily retrace the survey. 24.60.020 Specifications.

(a) Permanent monuments, each not less substantial than a two-inch galvanized pipe, shall be set at all corners of the exterior boundary of the subdivision, at all block corners, and at the beginning and ending of all curves.

However, a three-quarters inch galvanized pipe may be substituted for the two-inch pipe at corners of blocks and at the beginning and the ending of all curves within the subdivision; provided, that centerline monuments are set opposite all such points.

(b) All property corners not now in existence shall be surveyed and set for all subdivisions, lot splits, and any buildings on existing lots. Permanent monuments, each not less substantial than a one-half-inch rod, shall be set at all lot corners.

(c) Concrete monuments, each not less substantial than a two-inch galvanized pipe 30 inches long, set in accordance with standard specifications, shall be set at intersections of street centerline tangents, or offsets therefrom, as directed by the city engineer.

(d) Any survey monuments now existing or which are newly set and are in the street’s traveled way shall be enclosed in a monument cover and be brought to the street surface in conformance with city standards. [Ord. 09-005 § 37, 2009; Ord. 879 N.S. § 4, 1976. Formerly 24.15.020].

24.60.030 Information on final map.

The final map shall show the following:

(a) All the information required in PGMC 24.60.020;

(b) Stakes, monuments, or other evidence determining the boundaries of the subdivision where found in the ground;

(c) Adjoining subdivisions, or portions thereof, shall be shown by lot and block numbers, subdivision names, numbers, and the place of record by section, township, and range; or by other proper designation;

(d) If any points were reset by ties during the survey, that fact shall be stated in the final map. [Ord. 09-005 § 37, 2009; Ord. 879 N.S. § 4, 1976. Formerly 24.15.030].
