INTERSTATE TRUCK TERMINALS AND ROUTES*

10.34.010 Purpose.
The purpose of this chapter is to establish procedures for terminal designation and truck route designation to terminals for interstate trucks operating on a federally designated highway system and to promote general health, safety and welfare of the public. (Ord. 415 § 2, 1987).
10.34.020 Definitions.
The following words and phrases shall have the meanings set forth, and if any word or phrase used in this chapter is not defined in this section, it shall have the meaning as set forth in the California Vehicle Code; provided, that if any such word or phrase is not defined in the Vehicle Code, it shall have the meaning attributed to it in ordinary usage:
A. “Director of public works” means the director of public works of the city, or his authorized representative.
B. “Interstate truck” means a truck tractor and semitrailer or truck tractor, semitrailer and trailer with length as required by the Vehicle Code.
C. “Terminal” means any facility at which freight is consolidated to be shipped or when full load consignment may be loaded and off loaded or at which the vehicles are regularly maintained, stored or manufactured. (Ord. 415 § 1, 1987).
10.34.030 Designation of routes.
The following streets and portions of streets are designated interstate truck terminal access routes in the city:
A. Las Palmas Avenue from State Highway 33 easterly to the city limits;
B. North First Street from Las Palmas Avenue northerly to the city limits;
C. South First Street from Las Palmas Avenue southerly to the city limits;
D. E Street from State Highway 33 easterly to South First Street;
E. Sperry Road;
F. Highway 33 or Second Street. (Ord. 707, 2009; Ord. 505 § 1, 1993; Ord. 415 § 3, 1987).
