15.24.010 Adoption.
Pursuant to Sections 50022.1 through 50022.8, inclusive, of the Government Code, the city council adopts and enacts as the housing code of the city, the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Housing Code (UHC), an approved, published compilation of rules, regulations and standards of the International Conference of Building Officials, a private organization that has been in existence for a period in excess of five years. One copy of this code is now on file with the city clerk for use and examination by the public, with changes, additions and deletions relating to various numbered sections of the Uniform Housing Code, as set forth in this chapter. 15.24.020 Violation – Penalty.
A violation of any provision under this chapter is punishable as a misdemeanor and upon conviction may be punished by a fine of not more than $1,000 or by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than six months, or both. [Ord. 1176 § 17, 2000; Ord. 1058 § 5, 1993.]
