TRUCK ROUTES AND MAXIMUM GROSS WEIGHT LIMITS

10.42.010 Prohibited acts – Excepted routes.
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 35701 of the Vehicle Code, no person, corporation, or any other organization shall use or operate any commercial vehicle or any vehicle exceeding 20,000 pounds rated gross vehicle weight on or over any street, road or public right-of-way within the City except the following streets which are designated truck routes:
A. Pomerado Road between Creek Road and north City limits.
B. Community Road between Twin Peaks Road and Poway Road;
C. Twin Peaks Road between Pomerado Road and Espola Road;
D. Camino Del Norte westerly City limit and Pomerado Road.
E. Ted Williams Parkway from the west City limit to Twin Peaks Road;
F. Stowe Drive from Pomerado Road to Scripps Poway Parkway;
G. Danielson Street from Community Road to Scripps Poway Parkway;
H. Kirkham Way from Kirkham Court to east end, east of General Atomics Way;
I. Espola Road from Poway Road to Twin Peaks Road;
J. Community Road from Kirkham Way to Poway Road;
K. Scripps Poway Parkway from the east City limit to the west City limit;

10.42.020 Vehicles subject to Public Utilities Code.
The provisions of this chapter are not applicable with respect to any vehicle which is subject to the provisions of Sections 1031 through 1036, inclusive of the Public Utilities Code. (Ord. 122 § 2, 1984)
10.42.030 Pickups and deliveries.
This chapter shall not prohibit any commercial vehicles coming from an unrestricted street having ingress or egress by direct route to and from a restricted street when necessary for the purpose of making pickups and deliveries of goods, wares and merchandise from or to any building or structure located on the restricted street or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling, or construction of any building or structure upon the restricted street for which a building permit has been previously obtained. 10.42.040 Vehicles owned by a public utility or licensed contractor.
This chapter shall not apply to any vehicle owned by a public utility or a licensed contractor while necessarily in use in connection, installation or repair of any public utility. (Ord. 122 § 5, 1984)
10.42.050 Effective subject to proper sign erection on streets affected.
This chapter shall not be effective until the appropriate signs are erected indicating those streets which are affected by the provisions of this chapter. (Ord. 122 § 3, 1984)
