2.08.010 Reimbursement for expenses.
Pursuant to Section 36514.5 of the Government Code, which provides that city council members may be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official duties, the members of the city council of the city of Rancho Cordova shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official duties, subject to the following restrictions:
A. The expense was incurred by the member of the city council;
B. The expense was incurred in the performance of the council member’s official duties;
C. The expense is a necessary expense;
D. The reimbursement, together with any prior reimbursements in the fiscal year, shall not exceed the amount included in the city’s approved annual budget for reimbursement of the council member’s expenses for the fiscal year in which the expense was incurred; and
E. The council member provides adequate documentation to verify expenses, including, but not limited to, receipts, credit card statements, phone bills, flight coupons, etc. [Ord. 8-2003 § 1].
2.08.020 Reimbursement exceeding budgeted amount.
Notwithstanding the limit placed on reimbursement in RCMC 2.08.010(D), upon request by an individual council member and good cause shown, the council may approve reimbursement in any fiscal year in excess of the amount budgeted for an individual council member, provided the request for reimbursement satisfies the requirements of RCMC 2.08.010(A), (B) and (C). 2.08.030 Council salaries.
Pursuant to Section 36516 of the Government Code, which provides that a city council may enact an ordinance providing that each member of the city council shall receive a salary which shall be determined by a schedule of population for cities, the members of the city council of the city of Rancho Cordova shall receive a salary of $500.00 per month.
