OFFICER’S BONDS

Each of the City officials mentioned in this chapter is required to execute and post a surety bond approved by the City Council in the respective amounts set forth in SMC 2.12.020, and no City official for whom the posting of a bond is required shall be entitled to draw any compensation or be deemed to occupy and hold his office until he shall have posted such bond. 2.12.020 Amount.
The bond required from the several officers mentioned in SMC 2.12.010, and the officers who are required by SMC 2.12.010 to post a bond, are as follows:
A. City Clerk, a surety bond in the amount of $7,000;
B. City Treasurer, a surety bond in the amount of $5,000;
C. Chief of Police, a surety bond in the amount of $5,000;
D. City Tax Collector, a surety bond in the amount of $5,000;
E. Deputy City Treasurer, see SMC 2.12.030;
F. Deputy City Clerk, see SMC 2.12.030;

2.12.030 Officer, deputies or assistants.
In each case where the officer named in SMC 2.12.020 is provided with or shall have deputies or assistants, the bond above provided for must mention and specifically cover such assistants or deputies along with the officer mentioned. [Ord. 367 § 1, 1941; Ord. 224 § 3, 1913.]
