5.48.030 Register – Inspection.
5.48.040 Register – Failure to use true name unlawful.
5.48.010 Applicability.
All places wherein lodgings are provided, or wherein spaces for accommodations are provided for the parking or placing of automobiles or trailers used for habitation, shall be subject to the provisions of this chapter; this shall include, but not be limited to, autocourts, motels, trailer courts, resorts, roominghouses, and lodginghouses. 5.48.020 Register – Required.
The keeper, manager, or operator of any of the establishments described in SMC 5.48.010 must keep a register containing the name and address of each guest, including therein the name and address of each member of the party of such guest; the make, type and license number of the automobile and/or trailer, if any, and the state of registry and year of registration; and a description of the accommodations furnished or space rented. 5.48.030 Register – Inspection.
The operator, manager, or other person in charge of any establishment described in SMC 5.48.010 must exhibit the register referred to and described in SMC 5.40.020 to the chief of police of the city, or any officer thereof, immediately upon request. (Ord. 86, 1956; prior code § 7-507(3d))
5.48.040 Register – Failure to use true name unlawful.
It is unlawful to write, or cause to be written, or knowingly permit to be written, in any register in any hotel, lodginghouse, roominghouse, autocourt, trailer court, or any other place whatsoever where transients are accommodated in the city, any other or different name or designation than the true name of the person registered therein or the name by which such person is generally known.
