§421: Duty To Issue Permits For Street Excavations
§420 DUTIES GENERALLY
The Street Superintendent of the City shall perform all of the duties now, or thereafter, required of him by any law of the State, ordinance of the City, or order of the City Council. He shall keep all streets, bridges, gutters, sewers, culverts, drains and crossings in good order and condition, and clean and free from all rubbish. With the approval of the City Council, he shall employ such labor, engage such vehicles, equipment, implements and facilities as may be necessary in the performance of his duties, and direct the operation of the same. §421 DUTY TO ISSUE PERMITS FOR STREET EXCAVATIONS
It shall be the duty of the Superintendent of Streets to issue all permits for cutting into, or making excavations in all streets, whether paved or unpaved, under such reasonable rules and regulations as the Council may prescribe. (Ord. 346, §4, adopted 1941)
