§6160 PERMISSION REQUIRED TO ERECT POLES

No person, firm, partnership, association or corporation shall within the corporate limits of the City, erect or set up any poles or wires for transmission of electricity or for telephone or telegraphic or any other purpose whatever without first obtaining permission from the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council. (Ord. 86, §1, adopted 1897)

§6161 POLES TO BE REDWOOD OR CEDAR AND PLACED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

All poles hereafter erected by any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation within the corporate limits of said City shall be of first class sawed redwood or cedar lumber, surfaced and painted to the satisfaction of the City and all such poles and wires shall be erected and placed where the City may direct and to the satisfaction of the City Council. §6162 POLES ERECTED IN VIOLATION OF ARTICLE TO BE REMOVED

Should any person, firm, partnership, association or corporation erect poles and string wires contrary to the terms of this Article or the directions of the City, then said City Council may order the same removed and if such order is not complied with, the said Council may direct the Chief of Police, after such order is authorized, to use all necessary force to comply with the said order of said City Council.
